Fans and family of Hiplife musician Okyeame Kwame treated him to an honourable welcome ceremony last week at the Kotoka International Airport. The surprise package for the award-winning artiste on his arrival from Cincinnati on 24th December, 2016, the group left unending smiles on his face. The artiste, who is known for his long standing campaign against Hepatitis B received a key to the city of Cincinnati in honour of his philanthropy; presented in the USA by Mayor John Cranley. His arrival was graced by cultural drumming and dancing, press interviews and interactive sessions with his fans. Speaking to the media, the versatile rapper recounted developments leading to this feat, the significance and expanded on plans to project the campaign. The ceremonial key he stated is a symbol of trade, and cultural unity between Ghana (through the Ashanti empire) and Cincinnati of Ohio State. The rapper confirmed further, a closely related development – the institution of an Okyeame Kwame Day in Cincinnati every November 17.
