Here’s a round-up of the latest Amapiano songs you need to hear this week.

Adina Thembi ft. Mr JazziQ – Shoulder (yeriba)

New African Movement amazing Ghanaian vocalist, Adina Thembi is back with this sublime tune titled ‘Shoulder’ (Yeriba) featuring Mr JazziQ.

The award-winning singer and songwriter recruits the South African DJ on this Amapiano record which is Adina’ debut appearance for the year.

Wavy the Creator ft. CKay & Efya – Stella Riddim

Nigerian Alte singer-songwriter, Wavy The Creator calls on award-winning Ghanaian singer, Efya and the man of the moment with world’s most Shazamed song, Ckay for the fourth track on her new extended play ‘P.S. Thank You For Waiting’.

After first developing her creative talents as a fashion designer, filmmaker and photographer (including serving as the official lens-master for hip-hop artist Olamide), Wavy (Jennifer Ejoke) turned her attention towards music, releasing singles like “H.I.G.H.”, “3” and “Body Deep”.

After a hiatus which saw her tackling personal issues and reimagining her musical identity, P.S. Thank You for Waiting gives her genre-bending alté sound a new, Afro-futuristic pop direction.

It feels familiar yet forward-thinking, whether she’s navigating unrequited love (“Time”) or lust at first sight (“Harmonies”), alongside collaborators like Tay Iwar, WurlD, CKay and Efya.

Nautyca ft. Michy – OK

Sensational rapper, Nautyca has served fans with some hot steaming raw sauce in his latest collaboration with none other than the queen herself, Michy and it’s simply titled; OK.

I guess it is truly ‘Ok’ to have two buzzing acts converge on one dope soundtrack to produce some musical magic in the fast-spreading genre of Amapiano.

Produced by Sky Beatz, the South African-inspired Amapiano sound that is the current vibe in town finds exclusive expression and customization to the Ghanaian ear via the creative lyrics of Nautyca and Michy.

Whether it’s that intensive gym workout or a night out with the guys, this certified banger will set the tone for an upbeat atmosphere.

Ycee ft. Patoranking – Aunty Lovina

Nigerian singer-songwriter and rapper, Oludemilade Martin Alejo professionally known as YCee is back on the music radars with a new single.

Following his contribution on DJ Spinall’s Jabole tune alongside Oxlade, Ycee returns to the music scene after a short breather with a potential party anthem titled ‘Aunty Lovina’ which features vocals by Patoranking.

In the course of Ycee’s come-up in the year 2015, his collaboration with Patoranking with the song ‘Condo’ earned him two nominations at the 2015 Nigerian Entertainment Awards.

Will history be repeating itself with their latest collaboration effort? Let’s see.

Kabza De Small & DJ Maphorisa ft. Ami Faku – Abalele

South African musical artist, Kabza De Small and serial hitmaker, DJ Maphorisa tap Ami Faku for their latest song ‘Abalele’. The jam meets fans’ requirements and a reason to be proud of the genre.

Just like Ami Faku did on Big Zulu’s latest track titled Ukube Kuya Ngami, she plays a bigger role in this  Amapiano groove.

HHP ft. Focalistic – Nkaofa 2.0

The late South African rapper Jabulani Tsambo, popularly known as HHP left behind some great records before his demise. His management have shared one of his unreleased records titled ‘Nkaofa 2.0’ featuring Focalistic.

HHP (Hip Hop Pantsula), who died in 2018 at the age of 38, was one of the best MCees South Africa had. He has various music awards, including the South African Music Award for Male Artist of the Year, the MTV Africa Music Award for Video of the Year in 2009 and others.

‘Nkaofa 2.0’ brings back fond memories of HHP and how sad it is to lose such a personality in the African music scene. Teaming up with Focalistic, who is currently championing the Amapiano scene, ‘Nkaofa 2,0’ is a smashing Amapiano tune that will scatter the dancefloor anytime it comes up.
