Ayisi – Mokole

Following his first single for 2020, titled ‘Prayer’, A-Konnekt music artist, Ayisi releases another soulful record titled ‘Mokole’, translated in English as ”Nobody knows”

‘Mokole’ is reminiscent of Tupac’s ‘Do For Love’ which is a sample of Bobby Caldwell’s ‘What You Won’t Do for Love’, this time produced by E.L, who contributes a touch of Ghanaian Highlife and Hiplife to the record.

It will be of no surprise to many that Ayisi brought it home yet again, as if his credibility would be questioned. His fluent blend of the local and foreign dialects and cadences, lyrics and delivery, backing and ad lib vocals, surely leaves us all wanting more. Ayisi’s vibe on most of his records is generally charismatic and very prominent.

‘Mokole’ is no different and its message is to remind us about the probabilities in life, life’s uncertainties, a song to spur you on when you need it. It does just that and nothing else.

T’neeya – Hype Means Nothing

Anglo-Franco Artiste based In Ghana – T’neeya releases a new song titled ‘Hype Means Nothing’. This song is in itself an epiphany. It’s an ode to the underdog, and the newbie. It’s real, yet encouraging.

When asked why she wrote this song, she said ” I wrote and recorded at a point in my life when I felt neglected and depressed. My world was crashing down. People I thought I could count on disappointed me when I needed them most. I had hit rock bottom and didn’t know what to do. Everyday I would wake up and consciously think of good old memories. I would envision myself living my best life. I did that constantly. That was how I got myself out of the gloomy and sad place.“.

On the production fronts of ‘Hype Means Nothing’, we have Webbie keeping all the tones in check.
