Ghana’s foremost rapper, Sarkodie has communicated his worry about the further closure of Ghana’s International borders after the President reaffirmed his directives during his seventh Coronavirus Nations address.
On Sunday, March 22, 2020 after a request by President Akufo-Addo as part of efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19 in the nation, Ghana’s air, sea and land borders were shut until further notice.
The President’s request has heavily affected Ghanaian’s abroad who are eager to get back home to seek for refuge due to the rapid increase of COVID-19 cases abroad.
The Ghanaian rapper, who is also a victim appears not to be cool with the President’s mandate as he has been stuck in the US for few weeks now far away from his family.
Sarkodie in a tweet lauded the President for how well he has handled the pandemic situation in Ghana and begged him to open the borders for a day or two so Ghanaian’s abroad can return home.
Mr president @NAkufoAddo you’ve done so well with how you handling this pandemic , we appreciate your effort 🙏🏿 But please can we open the boarders for at least a day or two in between time for citizens stuck outside to get back pls 🙏🏿
