Tems Hails Gyakie, Tiwa Savage, Amaarae, Yemi Alade And Others After BET Success
Following her recent BET Awards victory, Nigerian singer-songwriter and producer Temilade Openiyi, better known by her stage name Tems, took the time to address other female talents.
At the 2022 BET Awards, the soulful singer won Best International Act as well as Best Collaboration for Wizkid’s song “Essence,” which featured her and Canadian pop star Justin Bieber.
Tems rushed to Twitter to thank other African female singers she considers her inspirations after defeating other outstanding acts such as Fireboy DML, Dave, Dinos, Fally Ipupa, Little Simz, and others to win her first international prize.
In her tweet, the 27-year-old singer expressed her admiration for a number of female acts in the Afrobeat fraternity, including Asa, Omawunmi, Waje, Simi, Tiwa Savage, Ayra Starr, Amaarae, Gyakie, and a host of others.
