VGMA 22 : How Social Media Reacted To Performances Of The Night
The 22nd edition of Vodafone Ghana Music Awards just came at end after two nights of glamour to honor the hard work of Ghana music artists. The night saw electrifying and spectacular performances from the artists on bill. Artistes who had the opportunity to grace the prestigious stage to perform for night are Joe Mettle, Diana Hamilton, Dr. Drew, Eno Barony, KiDi, Efya, Kwesi Arthur, Adina, Sarkodie among others.
Despite the fact every performer tried to impress the crowd and viewers, we will be highlighting some performances that got social media talking. The likes of Dr. Drew, KiDi, Sarkodie, Eno Barony and Efya put up a masterclass of showmanship on the night.
MR. DREW
First and foremost, we doff our hats off to Mr. Drew for raising the bar high with stagecraft in Ghana. The rising Ghanaian singer signed to Highly Spiritual music amazed the audience with his plethora of hit songs and as well as a synchronized choreography orchestrated by him with assistance from popular Ghanaian dancer, Incredible Zigi.
From head to toe, the “The Mood” hitmaker portrayed some Michael Jackson moves and for others on social media, the spirit of Chris Brown was felt.
The zombie concept he employed was well received by many on social media. He also won Best New Artiste of the year.

KiDi
Notwithstanding his lose to the ultimate award of the night that is the ‘Artist Of The Year‘, Lynx Entertainment’s KiDi delivered an outstanding stage performance. KiDi opened his performance with his latest single ‘Send Me Nudes’ which is housed under his newly released ‘The Golden Boy’ album. Next, he performed the buzzing and fan-favorite song ‘Touch It’ which received a stand ovation from his fans present at the auditorium.
The highlight of KiDi’s performance was his determination to perform in a firework display nonchalantly. He was massively lauded on Twitter for the employed artistry.

ENO BARONY
Eno Barony is likely to make the list whenever the best performers in Ghana are being named or mentioned. Over the years, the Ghanaian female rapper has left significant effects on whenever stage she’s mounted with her marvellous stage craft.
The female rapper Eno Barony also had some tricks up her sleeves. Cladded in white cloud-like garment, she brought out her best. Her flow, tempo and lyrics were unmatched.
It is not surprising she is the first ever female to win the Best Rap Performance award.

EFYA
Lastly, let’s delve into Efya’s. You and i are very much aware of how adept Efya is with live music. She got the place heated up with her angelic voice performing one of her well known records titled ‘One Of Your Own’ featuring Bisa Kdei. She performed alongside with a group of choristers who provided renditions of her favorite tracks.
Social media reacted positively to her performance, crowning her as the queen of Ghana music.
