Here is what George Quaye said after Akufo-Addo lifted Lockdown
Renowned Media Personality, George Quaye has reacted to the President’s order to lift partial lockdown after three-weeks due to the global COVID-19 pandemic.
George Quaye in a Facebook post threw jabs at persons criticizing the President for his decision to lift the partial lockdown in Greater Accra, Greater Kumasi, Tema and Kasoa.
In an address to the Nation, the president disclosed that, the decision to lift the lockdown was due to several factors including Ghana’s ability undertake aggressive contact tracing, enhanced capacity to test, expansion of the number of treatment and more.
However, some section of the general public expressed disappointment in the President considering the fact that the case count has hit a four figure.
George Quaye in his post asked critics to cut the president some slack because he is not an IDIOT or surrounded by airheads.
According to him, the President’s final decision was in the best interest of the country and the economy but however, Ghanaian’s should invest in their own safety and adhere to preventive protocols.

It’s always easy to question a decision from the comfort of an arm chair. Our president IS NOT an idiot and he IS NOT surrounded by airheads. I’m pretty sure a lot of deep thought, debates, conversations, arguments and counter arguments went into the decision to “unlock” the “lockdown”. As mentioned in one of his addresses (if I am not mistaken), your front door is your personal frontline hero in this battle against COVID-19.
If you have nothing doing in town, please #stayhome! If you NEED to step out, please follow all the safety protocols and WEAR A FACE MASK!
If your employer insists you come to work, ensure he’s also made the environment safe. If he hasn’t, invest in your own safety! Your safety is your priority. The lockdown has been unlocked. Let’s kick Ghana’s economic motor into motion again please. Bonjour GH! #besafe #followprotocols #stayhome #staysafe #covid19
